• Irvine Acupuncture COVID-19 Office Announcement

  • Due to the current risk of COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus, we have implemented the following policies and procedures for the safety of our patients, office staff and cross contamination. We encourage all our patients to read and follow them carefully.

    General Guidelines

    • If you are experiencing symptoms such as loss of smell or taste, fever, trouble breathing, coughing or any other flu like symptoms please call to reschedule your appointment. During this time we will be waiving our customary fees for late cancellations and rescheduling.
    • If you have been in contact or you’re aware that you have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 or any flu like symptoms 14 days prior to your upcoming appointment, we will not be able to see you. Please cancel your appointment.
    • All patients and providers are considered “silent carriers”, and universal precautions will be employed.
    • Non-essential visits should very clearly be postponed.
    • We ask you to come to your visits alone and unaccompanied.
    • If the provider has any signs of illness, all patient visits will be cancelled. Patients seen in the previous 14 days will be notified that they may have been exposed.
    • Proper Personal Protective Equipment will be used with every patient. This includes masks (mouth/nose and eyes), gloves, etc.
    • Disposable treatment table coverings will be used and discarded after each patient.
    • We will wipe down all surfaces that may have been contacted during the visit with appropriate cleaning products.
    • We have removed non-essential items that could be vectors for virus transmission from the waiting room, treatment rooms, and other common areas.

    Guidelines Before your Appointment:

    • All patients will be prescreened by phone, before their appointments for any signs of illness, and for travel or exposure risks as outlined by public health authorities.
    • In every possible case, we will perform our consultations by phone or via an on-line video platform.
    • We will perform our in-take on a video or phone call before your appointments to reduce the amount of conversations in the office.
    • Patients must wait in their cars if they arrive early. We will call you and let you know that we’re ready for you to come in.
    • Office door is locked and we will let you in upon arrival.

    Guidelines During Your Appointment:

    • All patients will be checked for their body temperature with a non-contact forehead infrared thermometer. No patient should arrive at the clinic ill. Patients arriving at the office with symtoms will be sent home and not treated.
    • Patients must enter the office with a mask. If you don’t have a mask, a mask or face shield will be offered to you for purchase. If masks or face shields are not in the way of your treatments, we ask you to keep them on for the duration of your treatment.
    • Patients will be taken directly from the entryway to their treatment rooms. We are avoiding patients congregating in the waiting area.
    • Sanitize your hands with the provided hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the office.
    • In all circumstances, observe the basics. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth at the office.
